I've currently got bamboo flooring which covers my entire house and I've been told that prolonged exposure to liquids could cause the wood to swell, just like any other timber. My question is... would the humidity caused by an evaporative cooler cause damage to bamboo flooring in the long run? Would I be better off getting refridgerated instead? Thanks! We have bamboo flooring in our house. The specification for this indicated that the swelling due to increased humidity is much smaller than for traditional wooden flooring. Having said that, it isn't an issue for us as we chose not to use evaporative cooling in order to allow us to keep the humidity in the house down for other reasons.
