Well my question is the return air is the living/family with the return air filter at the top of the stairs. Living/Family is always blowing air no matter what.
1 - on those summer nights if we are all upstairs, then we only need to cool upstairs, yet we are wasting power because the downstairs is being cooled for nothing.
2 - But the main thing is I would like to spend time in the office with the a/c on while the mrs is watching her tv shows like she does 60 hrs a week in the main living area. Thing is she gets cold easily and we can't isolate the living/family zone.
Is this normal practice? I know my bros a/c can isolate every outlet. He's had his 5 Hp unit for 10 without ANY problems and his house is of a very similar design to mine.
Is there a way to get around it, considering cabling and access in the ceiling for downstairs is pretty much minimal.
