Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Jan 17, 2011 11:09 pm Hi, we are currently putting together a list of items we would like to have included in receiving a quote from the builder. We are really stuck on the best option for heating downstairs. Our design is split level, with open staircase going down. This area will have three bedrooms, bathroom, toilet and small sitting/tv area. My first preference for heating, based on what I've learned is hydronic wall panel heating, but not an option due to costs. I don't mind having ducted heating at entry level, though am wondering if putting this down stairs will cause heat loss up the stairs. Will ceiling fans help with this? Can anyone suggest other options? I'm quite sure we will not need any cooling in this area. Your thoughts and suggestions are most welcome. Is anyone else building a similar design?
