Is is effiecient? What were u quoted for n how much? Re: Advantage Air Gen III touchpad 6Mar 23, 2011 3:33 pm I am going to see Intelligent Life tomorrow. I have a quote from another group who put in the Advantage Air Zone 10 and it's about 16k (my house is big). I'll be interested to see what Intelligent Life recommend and what their pricing is..... Re: Advantage Air Gen III touchpad 7Mar 25, 2011 9:40 pm Advantage Air developed the Gen III controller - I was at the launch and in on early product testing (prior to release) Intelligent Life sound like a distributor/onseller or brought the rights perhaps...? No idea now - moved on You get what you pay for! Re: Advantage Air Gen III touchpad 8Mar 30, 2011 12:27 am Intelligent life are the only ones that install the GenIII system. I don't have the quote back from them yet. Anyone have any feedback on the syste - good or bad........?? Re: Advantage Air Gen III touchpad 9Jul 04, 2011 7:33 pm Intelligent life is owned by advantage air. If you do some research you will find they have closed their sydney and melbourne branches. Word on the grape vine is that intelligent life in qld is also going to close. They have major reliability problems with the gen iii controls. I have also heard that they use the accent brand a/c air conditioner (re badged) which the gen iii has trouble integrating with. Re: Advantage Air Gen III touchpad 10Jul 04, 2011 8:12 pm I am pretty happy with my GenIII - no major issues, just a small noise problem (from the Accent branded condenser unit) and they have been quite attentive in sorting it out to date... acually need to call them out again tomorrow.. The touchscreen and control of scheduling has been good. Does however struggle a bit with cold days (as this morning). I recently saw on 'Home in WA' that they are bringing out an Ipod and Ipad app for control of the system - this will be the killer-app for me (pardon the expression). Can't wait to see it in action! Tried the heat mode the other day - very efficient. I do use my gas heater though more than the A/C to heat the house. So far so good. I'm still to test the Fresh Air option which I have. Touchpad is pretty good - easy to use. Will give more feedback after next summer Preliminary agreement 23/11 Contract 22/03 Prestart 06/04 - finalised on 30/04 Unconditional approval 10/05 Demolition 05/07 Slab 26/08 Brickwork 13/09-06/10 Roof frame started 07/10 viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32292 Re: Advantage Air Gen III touchpad 12Jul 05, 2011 10:41 am Very interested to see how you all go. The OH has his heart set on a genIII with the home automation and fresh air add-ons. Not sure whether to go the Daikin, Advantage Air or Accent Air unit though. Re: Advantage Air Gen III touchpad 13Jul 06, 2011 12:22 am Well, they e-mailed me the other day to say that they are having supply issues with Daikin due to the tsunami in Japan and that they are only using Accent Air units until mid next year!! .... Not sure I belive that one... I am thinking of putting an Actron system in. I need to decide soon though so I can get a system in before we move into our house at the end of July! Re: Advantage Air Gen III touchpad 14Aug 06, 2011 12:17 pm Hi all. V interested to hear others experiences with Advantage Air. Here's my story: Had a Gen III installed 5 years ago by Slater Air, acting as agents for Advantage Air here in Perth. The system including fresh air option and 7 zones cost just under $15,000. At no stage has the system ever lived up to promised performance. Here are just some of the issues: 1. The outdoor unit (AACV147CON1) is as loud as a Mack truck and totally unsuitable for a domestic application if you live within 100m of another property. I was assured the installer's recommended positioning would be fine. It later cost me $1,000 to move it to a different location to due to very valid complaints from my unhappy neighbours. 2. The system is hopelessly inefficient. Our power bills rose between $200 and $500 per month with modest use and regular complaints and servicing. This was in a small house with good insulation. 3. We specified we wanted a system that was easily modified and expandable as we were planning a major extension in the future. Fast forward four years and we have just completed said extension. So far modifications and recommissioning of the system has cost $5,000 (that isn't a typo) and it is unable to limp through a week without needing more work. 4. As soon as your warranty has expired be prepared for Advantage Air suddenly forget you exist. 5. Our system uses an unusual refrigerant that is expensive and difficult to acquire. 6. Every technician who attends our property from both Slater Air and Advantage Air confess to knowing nothing about the system, it workings or how to repair it. 7. In heating mode, the outdoor unit freezes and becomes useless if the outside temp is below 12 centigrade, rendering the the system useless in winter. Conclusion: This system has cost me over $20,000 in capital costs and few thousand in running costs. In hindsight I never should have put all my eggs in one basket with a single system. It would have cost far less to instal a dozen or more small split systems and get the same functionality. If any of them go u/s, chuck it out a get another. You have been warned. Re: Advantage Air Gen III touchpad 15Jun 11, 2013 10:04 pm Hi. Just wondered if anyone got the access code? My unit sometimes turn on for around 5 seconds randomly via the excess vent. Also it sometimes turn off when it has not reached temp than comes on again after 5mins. Is it fair to ask for advantage air to come rectify the issue without costing me money or service fees? Thanks for your reply. I will just wait and see I guess. Trying to get some more information from our builder. 9 29929 How do you remove one of these ceiling air con vents? And is it possible to disconnect the duct joined to the vent from inside the house, without going into the roof cavity? 0 5898 Hi all, sorting out the ducted air con for a 350sqm double story house. Does this placement sound reasonable to you? Also, I plan to have 6 zones I think. Living room… 0 0 |
