I have a few insulation questions. I want to make sure the job meets building regulations without any hassles ...
I am re doing the insulation at the same time as re plastering the inside of the house (removing old and putting up plaster board). I don't think I will need to remove all the boards outside the house for any reason yet, just a few will need replacing at some point.
Some have suggested splitting R3.5 in half to use in walls as a cheaper option (rather than using R1.5) - is this ok? Will it matter much what the gap is to fill (I think it is 90mm but will check - I have not moved into the house yet).
Will I need to put sarking in from the inside or is this only done from the outside?
I was going to get acoustic insulation for the internal walls - this presumable is not a silly idea? The normal insulation I can get a lot cheaper - is there a big difference between acoustic and non acoustic? Can the acoustic be used on the external walls?
Are the any real problems installing non polyester batts - presumably face-mask and gloves are the only difference?
Thanks for helping me with my newbie questions ...
