I could maybe do external awnings on 2 windows but not sure why they'd go with the polystyrene cladded rended wall and fitting. Elsewhere vegetation/awnings won't work so even a clear tint that improves things by even 10-20% will be welcomed. Finding upstairs hits 30 degrees at the end of a hot day as the genius who did my plans put a heap of windows including 2 massive ones that get belted by the sun all day and the 2nd genius who did the "5 star" plan passed it no problems. You see a lot of units these days with sliding shutters, if you know wjhat I mean. These can be pushed aside to let in light and views and closed to stop direct sunlight getting in. As far as the body corporate goes, you need to emphasize to them that these days the building needs to be more environmentally friendly. If the body corporate won't oblige, go over their heads. Energy saving has got to come ahead of making every unit in the block look the same. There are some very nice looking external shutters. Get others on the west side to vote for all west units to get them.
