We have recently moved into our new home in Melbourne and are looking at putting in evaporative cooling. Our house is approx 255m2 living area, maybe 235m2 without laundry/bathrooms/etc. We are after an efficient and reliable evaporative system. The price difference between the quotes below is only in the hundreds of dollars and is not an issue.
We have received a number of quotes, all for different units.
Our initial preference was Breezair, however the biggest unit that they make is the EXH210 (which I believe is optimal for a 210m2 house). Would this unit be undersized for our house? We want to ensure that we aren't pushing the cooler to its limits
Second quote was for a Coolbreeze Cascade C240. This apparently has over 1.5x the air flow of the Breezair, however I am unfamiliar with this brand and want to ensure we are spending money on a good evap cooler.
Last quote was for Brivis L63. I believe this unit is similar in size to the Coolbreeze. However, I have heard a number of issues regarding delays in fixing the unit etc.
In summary - Breezair brand is our preference, and if the unit was larger we would snap it up. However not sure about the limitations and the efficiency and reliability of the Coolbreeze and Brivis units.
Also just to let you know - we are not considering air conditioning and know that a good evap cooler would suit our cooling purposes.
Your thoughts on the above would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
