Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Sep 17, 2010 8:03 pm Hi I am not sure whether I am writing into the correct section, but here goes. We have an older house with a Solarhart that is at least 8 years old. We can't afford a new Solarhart yet, and we are wondering why the tank seems to drain after a month. The plumber USED to have to come around every month, but we now fill the system throught the water expansion vent on the unit. Why won't the Solarhart refill itself, seeing as it's connected to the mains (and switech onto mains water) Also, will the booster still be here after 8 years, since we live in an area where the water is hard (lots of calcium) and, from what I have heard, destroy a kettle in 1 year (it destroyed our 8 year old kettle in 6 months!!!) We now boil vinegar+water every month!) Any help appreciated Re: Solarhart Water Heating Issues 2Oct 21, 2010 11:23 pm I don't know why your tank isn't filling automatically. I have a solarhart hws and it has a 10 year warranty. You might want to check if yours has the same and if so if it's still under warranty. My system also has an anode. Not a problem here because the water is very soft. But if yours has an anode and you have very hard water, might be an idea to check the anode every year or so. (Not that this should have anything to do with the tank filling up AFAIK.) Need more photos from around the house including your gutters. We have had 3 of the wettest years in a row for some time so that wouldn't be helping 3 6947 Hi there everyone i was hoping to get some details and some clarification on some potential defects that may have occurred our recent bathroom renovation. 1.
