Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Aug 24, 2010 10:38 pm Hi all, hopefully someone can help. Apologies if I seem frustrated. I am currently reconsidering which brand of ducted heating manufacture I will use in our new home. I 'thought' it would be Brivis (MX30ENXA), but after being stuffed around on the phone all afternoon with them, I have (almost) decided to change my selection. Probably consider Braemer or Bonair etc... The reason is as follows. I have installed virtually all of the duct work and zone dampers per the local supplier's plans, they did the design for me, provided I purchased all through them, I had no problem with that. I will employ a friend of a friend who is a gas and heating plumber on day rate to install the unit, he only uses Braemar so can't help with the detail. The proposed location of the external unit means that the duct-work must be installed and ready before the floor and frame is installed in 2 weeks. The clearance of the floor leaves no room for error. I need to know whether the return air will be to the right or the left of the supply air, so I called Brivis. But, do you think anybody at Brivis would share with me what orientation the Supply air, and Return air should be in? No, nada, "sorry, we will only share that with our installers"... All I want to know is the location of the in and out pops on the unit?????? Can someone assist? Plans Done Feb 2010 Permit Done 23 April. Set out Done. Scrape and Excavations Done. Re: Brivis supply and return duct work orientation for MX30E 2Aug 25, 2010 11:00 pm You can put it on either side because you are able to change the unit round to suit by memory the supply air is the right hand side but as i said it does'n't matter it can be easily changed around by the way did you use 24V or 240V dampers because the old brivis units were 240 but the new ones use 24V dampers i know this has been catching people out a bit By the way i recommend you use Braemar instead of Brivis anyway good luck Re: Brivis supply and return duct work orientation for MX30E 3Aug 26, 2010 9:24 am We're going Brivis too, if anyone ever decides to bloody quote us. I cant help personally, but if you drive past our block there's a guy opposite us OBing too - his name is Ben. He installs airconditioning and possibly heating, if you see him you could ask? He doesnt work with Brivis but might know? Custom European Cabinets - Melbourne Kitchen Specialist PM for business details as website currently being updated! Our Crazy Owner Builder Journey! Re: Brivis supply and return duct work orientation for MX30E 4Aug 26, 2010 12:40 pm Thanks Brad. Yes, I was told that it could be swapped, but because noone at brivis was willing to provide documents / tech sheets on the product, and some were quite rude about. So, out of a little bit of spite - I have decided to change to Bramar (Part TH435). Their service has been outstanding this far. Rang tech support for Install manuals, and the tech guy sent them in 3 minutes via email - he also sent me the other documents to assist. Price was not an issue, they both were the same price. Also, regarding service, I have read lot of posts on line, that suggest they can be difficult with warranty issues, have also read that alot of duck shoving occurs if things go wrong...No thanks. I am installing 240V dampers, but don't start me on why, this is another thing Brivis and the suppliers got wrong...LOL hey Bam, thanks for the advice - I already have an installer - PS, my advice is now the same as Brad's, I'm going with Braemar.
