Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Aug 23, 2010 8:29 pm Hi Guys I am looking to add gas ducted heating to my home undergoing renovation at present. It is a 3 bed double brick, single story calif bung. We are on a slab so there will be ceiling vents. I have 4 x quotes (inc 1 x ducted aircon) and would appreciate your thoughts on them, and also suitability of the equipment proposed. They are as follows: 1) AGL - Supply Brivis HX23I internal 6 star natural gas ducted heating system including programmable thermostat. Installation will include six (6) ducted floor outlets $7799 inc GST 2) Sun heating - Brivis HX23 in XA High efficiency 5.8 star indoor gas heater 23kw capacity $6580 inc gst 3) jaicrest - Brivis HE20i 10 vents, 1 return air grille. $9,300 inc GST 4) TrimTemp reverse cycle ducted aircon for comparison. Daikin Nominal 6hp Inverter reverse cycle ducted system FDYQ160 7 outlets. $8900 inc GST. Do these sound reasonable, which would you go for and why ? Thanks for reading. Cheers Nick Re: Your views appreciated on these quotes please. 2Aug 24, 2010 7:49 am How will AGL fit floor vents through a slab...? Is 6 outlets enough...? Sun doesn't say how many outlets you're getting so not sure how you judge value for money there... Jaicrest has 10 outlets which seems more like it, but is the HE20i an obsolete model...? Can't see it in Brivis' current brochure, and it's rated 3kW lower than the first two... Trimtemp, you'd have to wonder what you're getting when someone quotes 20% under everyone else for the same thing... Re: Your views appreciated on these quotes please. 3Aug 24, 2010 9:00 am there are 8 vents for the Sun quote, with additional vents for bathroom and laundry at $220 each. We have 3 x bed, 1 x lounge, 2 x bathroom, 1 x laundry and 1 x largish kitchen with dining and open plan lounge. And yes, the floor vents were in error, it need be ceiling. Any thoughts on HE23i ? Thanks Re: Your views appreciated on these quotes please. 5Aug 24, 2010 8:12 pm First of all i would stay away from Brivis and be looking at a Braemar Second where are you because in Melb we do a Brivis HE23i to 10 outlets for around $4,400 inc gst maybe i should move my business up your way come to think of it you could have ducted heater & add on aircoditioning for those prices Building Standards; Getting It Right!
