Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation Re: Wood heaters 21Jan 28, 2012 6:41 pm We ended up getting a Clean air large console havent got it installed as of yet. We have it sitting where it will be installed roughly in the middle of the house. We got it at melbourne wood heating centre in lilydale we got it for $3200 about $300 cheaper than here in bendigo. It didnt cost us that much to drive down there and back again. Would love to hear from either Bindi77 or Deemaree if they are still on these forums. We are building a 28 square farm style house and I'm looking at the Clean Air. Just not sure if I should get the Large or Medium console? Fireplace will be in the centre of the house in a room that is about 8 squares total with a Cathedral Ceiling included in that figure. There will be a fan in the centre of that room which should help distribute the warm air to the left and right wings of the house. Depending on heat distribution we may put in ducting if required. Just wondering on Bindi77, Deemaree's, or any other forum members experiences. The Clean Air Medium console is rated 24 squares and the large is rated 28 squares I believe. We don't want the room that the heater is in to be sweltering but at the same time we'd like the chill of the air taken out of the rest of the house. We are building in Roleystone WA where it gets pretty cold in the hills. Our house is well insulated in wall cavities and roof. Re: Wood heaters 23Jun 09, 2013 3:43 pm Hi there, How big is the rest of your home? You can always install a warm air transfer kit to move heat to other areas of your home-we are actually getting one in today! Our last house was open plan ( around 22square of living all up) and the medium console was fine for that area....however I would be inclined to go the next size up from what you think you need. I would definitely install the large Clean Air heater. I would also like to report that out warm air transfer system was installed this afternoon and is working a treat! Thank you very much for the feed back. We'll go the Large console by itself for this winter and see how it goes with just the fan to transfer heat around. If we need the heat transfer kit we'll get that next year. Re: Wood heaters 26Jun 10, 2013 7:26 pm This is our 3rd winter here-so we didn't rush into it either. They have a zero Clearnce model coming out very soon, We visited Jetmaster in Melbourne and were very Impressed. Can't wait, for next winter when hopefully we will be sitting in front of the Fire (with a nice glass of Red!! ) Col. We went with a Lopi Flush Hybrid (yet to be installed) which is meant to be suited for a house up to 300sqm, we paired this with a heat transfer kit to the bedrooms at the outer edge of the house. The heater is in the middle of the house. Lopi are on the expensive side but also very efficient with some cool new technology, lighting fire by push of a button for example. Check out my blog, has a video of the push button start. If you want to go to the extreme high end i would look at Chazelle heaters from France which have the heat transfer unit built into the actual heater itself....... Unfortunately it cannot be installed with a zero clearance box and requires a full masonry surround. Hi there, not sure of you are still on here. I'm currently doing some research on the clean air medium console. Are you still happy with yours? Do you know anyone that has recently purchased/installed one and are happy with it? Thank you for your help We are tossing up between a Jarrahdale radiant wood fire (the Pioneer) and a convection wood fire (Innovator or Countryman) but cannot decide on which type of wood fire is… 0 5249 yeah i couldnt picture it issue either, but i could clearly picture what they were doing wrong haha 2 5294 |
