Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Jun 27, 2010 7:41 pm i am currently looking at different house builders in northern vic, have looked at all the big builders and starting to get serious with GJ GARDNER, question is, is it worth them doing the heating and cooling AND paying the over 30km contractor allowance or go through my next door neighbour who is a plumber and get him to do the work instead and save some coin upfront. They are going to use bonaire for both heating and cooling and will cost about $10,000 to install your help is greatly appreciated Re: Firat home buyer heater and cooling question 2Jun 27, 2010 8:01 pm Personally, I would go through the builder because then if there are issues it is their responsibilty to deal with them. I guess to make the decision you need to look at just how much you would be saving though. My hubby is an electrician (mining though) and he wanted to look at wiring our house. I told him no way because the electricians who do their homes are doing the same thing every day. My suggestion is, what are you looking to build and why. This will all be impacted by the local councils planning scheme.
