Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Jun 16, 2010 12:23 am I'll be building a double storey and want multi-head split system but my builder(Hen***) simply wont do it, and told me to do it after handover. It's doable but it will be pretty messy and not as neat. I asked them if I can arrange my own contractor to run pipes during framing stage, they flat out telling me NO, Hen*** will not allow any any contractors other than theirs to do any work on site b'cos warranty issues. When I told them I really don't like ducted aircon and the Brivis ICE thingy is a no no (I do like their ducted heater though, I have one in my current house and it's great, especially the networker wall controller, it's just so easy to use), they told me the only thing they can do is put in provision for ducting and powerpoint for a small cost so I can have whatever brand I like after handover if I can live with ducted aircon. I guess I have no choice but have to make do with the ducted thing. So one question for the aircon experts out there. How can my builder do the zoneing thing if they got no idea which aircon I gonna install? will it compatible with the system I gonna install after handover? Everything else can be done during install later... Thanks for the reply iceman. So you're saying I don't need to worry about all those zoning stuff, it can be done afterward? even ground floor? forgive me if I've asked a silly question. You don't want to hide zone motors in inaccessible places because they do burn out and need changing... All that can go in the roof... How do you remove one of these ceiling air con vents? And is it possible to disconnect the duct joined to the vent from inside the house, without going into the roof cavity? 0 5943 Hi all, sorting out the ducted air con for a 350sqm double story house.
