Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Jun 14, 2010 5:53 pm Hi, we are planning a new house and would like to have an above ground 'cellar', i.e. a small insulated room. one idea to keep this as cool as possible without electricity is to suck in air at floor level through a pipe which runs in the ground & thus chills the air (permaculture principle). I wonder whether anybody has tried to do something like this and would be game to comment - efficacy, pitfalls, design??? alternatively, any experience or advise on 'cool cupboards' to store fruit & veg?? many thanks in advance for any inputs! karin Re: earth cooling pipe/cool cupboard? 3Jun 14, 2010 8:44 pm dymonite69 page error. the page does not load Re: earth cooling pipe/cool cupboard? 5Jul 10, 2010 4:41 pm We had one of these in the house I grew up in.
