Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation Re: Daikin Hybrid Ducted System - any reviews? 2Jun 08, 2010 8:26 pm The brochure says: "Daikin’s Hybrid Ducted System combines technologies from both the inverter and traditional non inverter systems" I am not sure what the implication is of this. I am guessing that the non-inverter works more efficiently in reaching the desired temp and the inverter works best in maintaining it. But we have a ducted Daikin inverter and were told by the company that by heating only 50% of our house at a time, it runs less efficiently, similar to a 'non-inverter'. Perhaps there is a threshold below which the inverter is switching on and off like a non-inverter. I notice that the rated efficiency between the two system only has a difference of 5%. It appears there are other factors that have far more influence on how much energy you consume compared to the actual efficiency of the system. I can only assume the quoted COP applies in ideal conditions when using the system at its maximal capacity. Re: Daikin Hybrid Ducted System - any reviews? 3Jun 09, 2010 6:07 am hiccup So they are cheaper than the inverted system ... does that mean they are not as good? What are the pros and cons? Would love to hear what peoples thoughts are. In the larger ducted's the hybrid's are a cracker! The 20kW unit is $2k less than the inverter and hardly any difference in running costs. There used to be a comparison on the energy.gov.au site that you could look at but it's all gone now with the latest MEPS changes. We put these systems in a fair bit, they're very popular. So, Iceman, just wondering if you think the Hybrids for a 7.1kw is a good choice? (or if anyone has any input). We have been quote #$2600 for a hybrid or $2900 for full inverter. We are tempted to pay $300 less but not sure what the 'cons' are and if it will soon end up costing more?? Anyone?? 1 15893 ShaneG We have been doing heaps of hybrid floors lately. The hollowness is caused by low spots in the slab or subfloor. No slab or particleboard floor is going to be… 1 10459 We are doing heaps of hybrid at the moment and the cost sits between $60-65/sqm including installation. Stairs are around $90-100 each 1 4337 |
