Chris Firstly I'm wondering if the fan is vibrating badly because it's badly balanced or has a manufacturing fault. Even a bent or damaged fan blade could cause significant vibrations. If the fan is operating within the specifications you could try various methods of isolating the fan unit vibrations from house frame. I've seen in roof air conditioner units sitting on waffle pads and suspended from the upper roof trusses by steel cables with isolation springs. If the vibration is severe or you wanted to bolt the unit down more securely you could use some stationary engine vibration mounts similar to car engine mounts. The link below is just an example of what might be available. www.fdrive.com.au/products/04/engine.php I'd also try talking to local air conditioner installers and suppliers (someone like www.airwaresales.com.au/) as they might be able to help.
