Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Mar 24, 2010 2:30 pm Hi All, With Electricity costs tipped to skyrocket we would really like to add ceiling fans with built in lights, to all the bedrooms. We have previously had a fan with a fluro light in our old house but the light was too blue and too dull. You needed to turn on a few other lamps to have enough useable light, which reduces any power saving. I have seen the halogen ones in shops which give the brightness we need. Guessing they are more expensive to run than fluros. I have found this one online but wondering if it will be bright enough (it looks just like our old dull one). The technical info on the manufacturers website claims it gives off more lumens than the halogen one in the same range. http://www.fansonline.com.au/product_info.php?pName=lifestyle-brushed-alum-with-energy-saver-light&osCsid=76e831d7c7331f010316b93ba0e9081b So does anyone have a great bright fluro lit fan? The lamps can be replaced with warmer colours called "Cool White" and "Warm White" from brands like Osram or Sylvania. Martec has a model called an Envirofan that has a 40W circular fluoro tube: http://www.martecceilingfans.com.au/met633bn In theory this should be a bit brighter - but it is also a bit more expensive. Im quite tall and i find 2.7m high to be good, but if i could choose again, id go 3m which i believe is 33c. 1 8694 what's the rationale on this? In my mind, the risk weepholes mitigate isn't solved by acrylic render. 9 42320 |
