We bought a brand new townhouse recently. When we moved in, we discovered many defects which had made us fell very frustrated and started to question our purchase decision.
One problem we find is there is no insulation put in the ground floor ceiling. We called the builder and he said he was not asked to do that. So, we are wondering whether it is compulsory to put the insulation in order to meet the energy rating standard. Any body knows what Building Regulation says?
By the way, we find the insulation put in the ceiling of 1st floor is not the popular pink batts, instead it is the loose material. Is the loose material inferior to pink batts or other types of fibreglass batts in terms of insulation quality? Will it cause allergy?
