I had a Brivis Advance F33 with 7 points installed on the 12 of November last year in my 4 yo investment property. Would you believe the install only took 3 men 2 hours!!!!!!! That in itself should have rang alarm bells.
After reassurance from the contractor that the install was done properly my wife paid them in full.
On the 14 of November at 3am we got a phone call from our tenants to say that water was seeping through the plaster ceiling and was on the verge of collapse. I told the tenants to turn the water off at the mains.
Living only just around the corner, my wife and i arrived just in time to see the plaster collapse. Water and plaster went everywhere.
After numerous unanswered calls to the install company we got in contact with a plumber.
Huggy's Plumbing Service was good enough to be there in 10 mins, which is good service for 3 in the morning.
He discovered that the fitting to supply the water for the cooling system had not been installed properly into the house water line, thus spurting into the roof space for 48hrs.
The behaviour of the install company throughout this matter has been abysmal. Much to our dismay our insurance company did not cover an event like this. It would have been different had an existing unit leaked, they would have covered it.
As i write this, the ceiling has not been repaired and to make matters worse, today we got a call from the tenants informing us that they had turned off the water at the mains, as water was continually running from the cooling unit.
We rang the install company and they couldn't send anyone out, so we rang Brivis and they couldn't send anyone out until the 24th of March. Again we had to use an independant tradesperson to help us out. He changed the dump valve. So there is more cost for us in the short term.
The insurance company has made us a settlement offer that will not cover the cost of repair, so we have rejected that one and told them to have another think. It is even below the quoted repair prices of the two contractors that they sent out. Go Figure.
Cheers and thanks.
