We moved into our place almost four weeks ago and want to repaint a couple of bedrooms. The one on the western side of the house heats up quite a bit in the afternoon and retains that heat in the evening. So instead of just painting, we are thinking about removing the gyprock and installing wall batts in that western wall (or potentially all the walls) prior to putting up new gyprock and painting.
Is it right that the batts should be held back by some twine lines running vertically between the noggins so that the batts don't contact the outside brick wall?
Any other advice? This is our first place and while we have the time for DIY, we don't have much experience with renovations (yet).
Thanks for your help,
lonnie
