I think there are many things that you would think they know that they don't!! The heating unit is what we are looking to replace. The compressor is large enough for the space but they didn't upgrade the heater unit when they included the add on aircon. This should have been done because it takes a bigger fan to run airconditioning than heating because of the increased resistance from the aircon components (I wish I knew that back then). I think you are right though - a few more quotes would be a good idea.
