System is still under warranty and I had it installed by the dealer recommended by the manufacturer
System failed to a year or so ago and a failed part was replaced within 5 days. Luckily it was winter so the fault was detected when using the heating. No huge drama.
Christmas Day the system fails again. MAJOR DRAMA
Dealer obviously uncontactable on Christrmas Day. Their phone just rings out. I kept calling until Jan 4 and BY now the phone was just dead.
I call the aircond manufacturer who 3 days later sends out another dealer. This service tech claims the fault is with the ducting which has collapsed. Manufacturer refuses to have anything to do with it and tells me to wait 3 weeks until selling dealer reopens.
The tone from the National Service Manager was disgusting. I pleaded with him to allow the tech who was on site to fix the issue and for them to resolve with the selling dealer. The tech told me he would charge me $160 to fix the duct.
Got hold of the CEO of the airconditioning manufacturer and let him know via email that I was commencing legal proceedings against all 3 parties and that my claim included cost of bringing in a 4th party to rectify the fault , loss of income, cost of alternative rental expenses, aggrevated damages etc.
Magically they got hold of the MD of the orignall selling dealer who was here in an hour. He fixed the collapsed duct in 11 minutes.
NEVER having ducted airconditioning again. Splits sytems are so advanced and quiet now and when one spilt breaks down you have the others still operating.
This particular airconditioning manufacturer got a serious mouthful about their disgusting attitude towards not finding a solution to a customer issue. The problem could have been fixed in the time it took arguing on the tech's phone over the matter.
