Can anyone guide me to a reliable contact to organize a servicing of the Brivis Ducted Cooling and Heating System installed in my house. Its a 3 year old property that I purchased a month ago. I am particularly concerned because when i run the cooling for a while and turn it off, about a bucket of water spills out of the cooling system sitting on the roof. Also, do these guys clean ducts too. Or am I to call someone else in for that? Call a local heating and cooling installer and they can do a service. krishnan1404 I am particularly concerned because when i run the cooling for a while and turn it off, about a bucket of water spills out of the cooling system sitting on the roof. Normal if you turn it off...it's the evaporative unit dumping the water out of the system...otherwise the water would sit in the airconditioner well festering. krishnan1404 Also, do these guys clean ducts too. Generally only need to clean the heating ducts...but a heating and cooling company can advise. mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: Service: Brivis Ducted Cooling and Heating System 3Nov 14, 2008 10:07 pm most heating/cooling companies can provide a service on ducted heaters and evaporative coolers. brivis also do it but can take a while to get there.
The last poster is correct about the water. After a while the unit will dump all the water out so it doesn't grow algae and other bugs. Duct cleaning is an interesting one. i think brivis do it, along with a million other people. If you have a filter in your ducted heating system you should never need to get your ducts cleaned. If you don't have a filter and haven't had for years - get the ducts cleaned once then buy a filter and never clean them again!! A lot of duct cleaners will tell you to take out the filter because it can clog up / cause fires etc ... they are just keeping themselves in business. But like all filters, once installed they must be cleaned every few weeks.
