Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation Re: Separate ducts for heating and refrigerated cooling? 8Dec 04, 2009 11:32 am Sheepdog Macy Bam It will be Good to hear that someone has it! I couldnt find anything in my searches! They all say its an add on to the heating system I thought it's evaporative that is used as an add-on? Isn't refrigerated another term for reverse cycle, which has both cooling and heating functions, or do they sell systems that only work in the one mode these days? I don't think I've seen an evaporative add on solution since they have to use seperate ducts. You can get refrigerative cooling with a gas heating add on though that uses the same ducts. In regards to having seperate ducts, it sounds like you might be in store for two seperate devices (a gas heater and a seperate refrigerative unit) which might make it more expensive - but it might also open up the oppurtunity to have gas heating + evap cooling, which will help balance out the cost again (and probably the most economical running costs). I assumed it would probably cost more.. Ill have to email some places and see whether its possible and what the price difference will be. And Hubby is set of refrigerated even though we'd originally planned for evap... So I think Ill need to get quotes on refrig/heating seperate, refrig/heating together and evap/heating.
