Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Nov 23, 2009 10:34 am Hi, I'm getting air con installed on a boundary wall with the unit begin in the courtyard and the pipes having to be run through the wall to get there. However, i've heard from a few people that we should be allowed to run the pipes on the exterior of the wall as we own the space that the eaves overhang. Is this true? It would make it a much easier install cos then we wouldn't have to knock big wholes in our interior walls for the drain pipe (the other one is going up into ceiling and accross the other direction). Any ideas?? Thanks, Mel Re: Air con on boundary wall 2Nov 23, 2009 10:42 am Hmmm... If your eaves hang over your neighbour's property, then that space under the eaves is still their property. I'm not sure they'd want any pipes or anything sticking out into their side. I know I wouldnt! Maybe speak to them if you know them, if that wall is on a dead side of their house, maybe they wouldn't mind. Always best to keep the lines of communication open. Re: Air con on boundary wall 3Nov 23, 2009 10:45 am I'd say the edge of your eaves is your boundary, not the wall. If the wall was the boundary, you wouldn't have been able to have eaves. So, that being the case, you could run it along the wall, but you may need to fence where the actual boundary is. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick How do you remove one of these ceiling air con vents? And is it possible to disconnect the duct joined to the vent from inside the house, without going into the roof cavity? 0 5900 Hi all, sorting out the ducted air con for a 350sqm double story house.
