THE $1600 home insulation rebate scheme will be slashed by $400 from Nov 1, 2009 in a sudden move set to rock the Federal Government's troubled economic stimulus program.
More than 500,000 Australian households have installed ceiling insulation under the Government's $2.5 billion stimulus plan, which covered the first $1600 of any quote.
However homeowners who have a written quote for insulation to be installed, but are waiting for the work to be done, will be exempt – provided the job is completed by November 16.
