Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Oct 09, 2009 12:11 pm We have about 80 m^2 of tiles in the home being built. we would like to have some under tile heating in some areas, mainly the kitchen, living and dining areas to keep us from freezing in winter. What are my options, and what are the costs involved in doing this? Re: Under Tile heating Costs 2Oct 09, 2009 12:18 pm I would check out the running cost before using this for a large area. A builder we had a chat with said one of the houses he built had underfloor heating throughout, however they only used it until they received their first utility bill. Bit of a shame for the expense of it, and then never be used. Re: Under Tile heating Costs 3Oct 27, 2009 12:26 pm Have a look at speedheat.com.au. Sawe them at a home show & have just received quotes from them. Their under tile heaters are only about 2mm thick. Because they're directly under the tile, not in the slab, they heat up quickly. They are also pretty low wattage. Their site gives some figures on run cost per hour. Works great - we love ours. We used Radiant Floor Heating - I think they have suppliers in all states.
