Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Sep 24, 2009 10:13 pm Hi all. My house has an in wall reverse cycle system that is quiet old, and feel like its on it's last legs. I would like to replace this unit, but I'm undecided what way I would like to go. House is a 4 bedroom solid brick house in Adelaide's southern suburbs. I'm tossing up between a split system in the lounge room, or a ducted reverse cycle system. Apparently split systems are really only good at cooling one room (the fan can't blow air too far) which means that the bedrooms will suffer in the hot summer nights. I'm really keen on a ducted system, (7 vents: Lounge room, 4x bedroom, kitchen, living room) with multiple zones but don't want to over captialise. Do you think if I spend the extra 4k on a ducted reverse cycle system that I would increase the value of the property by at least 4k more than what I would if I just put a split system in? Re: Money back on ducted system? 3Oct 22, 2009 9:49 am Thanks for your input Rosewood. We have decided that in 4-5 years we will most likely be selling up and relocating / upgrading. So I'm really thinking more about resale value and getting my money back (or losing as little as possible). I just don't know if spending 4-5k more on a ducted system will get me 4-5k more come sale time. I know no one will know, but generaly speaking do you think it will?
