Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Sep 17, 2009 6:20 pm Hi there, We are thinking of putting in Lennox ducted heating & refridgerator cooling unit in our rebuild. I have never had ducted heating/cooling before & really excited about it (easily pleased ) Does anyone here have it or been thinking about getting it? It sounds a lot but both quoted for it ducted in the ceiling with X amount of points & 5 star. thanks in advance Jazz Life is like a lolly, suck it and see Re: Lennox Ducted Heating & Cooling Unit - thoughts? 4Sep 18, 2009 9:38 am Jazzie lisanne I'll let you know in a few weeks when I move into my place That would be great - thanks Can I ask you a ballpark figure of the cost don't answer that if you don't want to We've had two quotes - both around $11,000. For the heater (5.3 energy star rated) and refrigerated cooling (9.8kw) both zones are independent of each other and have a 7 day programmable timer and it's costing $12,500 for the lot 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' I believe it's pretty much top of the range, a very good system. We are however going with Brivis supplied though our builder, due to cost and convenience. The reason I ask is that I may get a 3rd party to install the add-on cooling to the heater and would dearly love this to occur during construction, not after. Thanks That depends on who you ask I organised with my SS the installation of the heater unit and the duct work to be done prior to plaster. When the painting had been done my SS was on leave so I emailed my Admin person to ask to organise access to get the vents put in and she told me the company line of I can't have any external contractors on site so I waited till my SS was back and he didn't have a problem - so it really depends on your SS 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' All supply ducting to be insulated. Manual or programmable heat/cool thermostat. Quote: $11,300 plus GST. so my first post was without the GST I'm going with it Jazz Life is like a lolly, suck it and see Re: Lennox Ducted Heating & Cooling Unit - thoughts? 9Sep 18, 2009 8:09 pm Jazzie Just got the quote for the Lennox heating & air con & thought I would share Lennox 2 stage high efficiency 5.3 star rated gas furnace of 23.7W and 16.7W capacities, integrated with Lennox refridgerated cooling of 12.7W capacity and ducted to 9 outlets. I can't even hear the heater, I have to stand under the vents to see if it's kicked in or not!! The day I moved I even put the cooler on and it was awesome too! (they had been fiddling with getting the air flow right and the house got really hot so I cooled it down a bit just cos I could hehe) 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' What i'm scared of is that i hope they would easily have access to the switches and stuff that they would need. Lisanne how long did it take them to fix the unit in? Good to hear Lennox is good 'm also getting a quote for that. Jazzie lisanne Hey Jazzie I am very happy with my heater and cooler!! Good to hear Lennox is good 'm also getting a quote for that. At one point when my SS was on leave I asked my admin/office person and she said no, so I waited for my SS to come back and he was fine with it all. My heater is in the ceiling cavity so you really need access before the plaster is on or they will need to remove the parts of the roof. I'm really not sure how long it took to do, the heater and duct work went in before the plaster and I wasn't on site. The ducts in the roof, again I wasn't here and then when they were installing the condenser outside and checking the air flow they took about 3-4 hrs BTW just as an FYI, I believe Lennox are the leading brand in Canada who has temp extremes more than us - VERY VERY impressed with mine so far 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.'
