Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Sep 08, 2009 3:10 pm When building, can I include the cost of airconditioning into the home loan? How does it work? Do I need to get a formal quote for the total cost including installation, then show it to the bank? Also, can I source my own aircond installer or must I use the builder's installer? 12 March 2010 - Land titles received 3 April 2010 - Signed building contract 14 April 2010 - Prestart 28 April 2010 - Loan approved 30 June 2010 - Slab completed 27 August 2010 - Brickwork completed 22 September 2010 - Roofing completed 30 September 2010 - Internal walls plastered 12 October 2010 - Lock Up 19 November 2010 - PCI 26 November 2010 - Handover 29 December 2010 - Moved In https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32584 Re: aircond cost with home loan 2Sep 08, 2009 7:34 pm Normally you would select air conditioning as an extra which would be included into the contract price by your builder. The final contract (which includes all of your extras) is presented to the bank for final approval. Our builder would only allow us to use their airconditioning company (Bonaire). Otherwise, we can decide not to have airconditioning and have this installed after the house is built and handover has taken place. Serge44, so what you're saying is that as long as the builder allows, it is possible to provide the bank with a quote (from your own installer) to have this cost added into the loan....yes? 12 March 2010 - Land titles received 3 April 2010 - Signed building contract 14 April 2010 - Prestart 28 April 2010 - Loan approved 30 June 2010 - Slab completed 27 August 2010 - Brickwork completed 22 September 2010 - Roofing completed 30 September 2010 - Internal walls plastered 12 October 2010 - Lock Up 19 November 2010 - PCI 26 November 2010 - Handover 29 December 2010 - Moved In https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32584 Re: aircond cost with home loan 5Sep 09, 2009 7:54 pm for my construction loan with the dragon I put the house contract with a quote for driveway, ducted aircon, deck, timber floor and carpets, landscaping and fencing. the builder agreed to my choice of a/c company no problems. ’’Quondo Omni Flunkus Mortati ’’ If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy. Serge44, so what you're saying is that as long as the builder allows, it is possible to provide the bank with a quote (from your own installer) to have this cost added into the loan....yes? Yes, it's what I've done. I have a separate company providing my heater/aircon and it's being paid for out of my home loan as I submitted the quote with the loan application. The builder doesn't have to allow it. What is nice though is if the builder allows your installer to install bits as the build is done. For example I got my heater and duct work put in the roof before the plaster. I'm also getting the vents put in before the final touch ups are finished.
