Cheers First Timer Re: split systems - fujitsu or Daikin 2Sep 08, 2009 2:26 pm I have 4 Daikins in my home, and have had problems with 2 of them. A couple of years ago I added a Fujistu ASTA to my daughter's room and it's the best out of the lot of them. I have spoken to people in the trade and I have found it almost unanimous that the Fujistu splits are better units than the Daikins. My new house will have Fujistu units throughout. I think the Fujis are a little more expensive, but well worth it. Blog is now up - http://www.jbdave.blogspot.com/ Re: split systems - fujitsu or Daikin 4Sep 12, 2009 5:09 am I have a friend in Queensland who owns his own business installing A/C units, his order of preference for split systems is: 1. Daiken 2. Panasonic 3. Fujitsu He said if price is a factor, then Panasonic is better. Daiken also only like to service their own units. I have 2 Panasonic units in my home and am delighted with them. Hope this helps, jamestheoz Re: split systems - fujitsu or Daikin 5Sep 12, 2009 7:46 am in the house I rented while building we had a daiken it was hopeless did even cool the room it was fix 4 times still donot work, they had bad service and a bad product as well,I decided would never buy that product finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 Re: split systems - fujitsu or Daikin 6Sep 15, 2009 3:25 pm Thanks for the feedback, we have gone with Fujitsu hope it works out well. Re: split systems - fujitsu or Daikin 7Sep 15, 2009 6:53 pm We just did all the research and shopping around and went with Panasonic. Got them before the Winter cashback deals finished. Seemed to come down to Fujitsu and Panasonic in the end.. and we went with the Panasonic because it was (well on paper anyway) alot quieter. time will tell! All I can say is never bother with the cheap and nasty brands. We had some no name brand in our last rental place. Absolute crap.. and you cant get the spare parts when they break! Re: split systems - fujitsu or Daikin 8Sep 15, 2009 7:54 pm We had a Fujitsu split system in our old house and it was a fantastic bit of gear. We went for that brand because of the recommendation of the installer, an extremely reputable local tradie. That was back in 2001. In our new home, we contacted the same installer and again left the selection up to him. We now have a Mitsubishi split system. It worked pretty hard last summer and didn't let us down. Whatever you end up selecting First Timer, don't go for the cheap and nasty option. Geoff - Decophile. Re: split systems - fujitsu or Daikin 10Oct 26, 2009 8:28 pm We just had 2 fujitsu's installed. Haven't had any hot weather yet to put them to the test, but had a Daikin in a previous house and was happy with that. It boiled down to the price in the end. Re: split systems - fujitsu or Daikin 12Oct 27, 2009 12:40 am I am installing a new Daikin 5kw/h inverter soon but I was told to also look for the new models of Mitsubishi (heavy Industries) Inverter models. Fujitsu cornered the market a few years ago but lost some credibility over the years perhaps because it has a long presence in the market too. one thing to consider is to precisely look at the coverage area to cool some models struggle beyond certain stated capacity. Daikin uses 4.5-5 amps and a 5kw/h is reasonable power consumption for an inverter model should be able to use power more wisely. Re: split systems - fujitsu or Daikin 13Oct 28, 2009 11:09 am I had two Fujitsu's installed in 2008. They both work well in both heating and cooling modes. Don't forget - how you use any a/c will make a difference to their effectiveness and running costs. If you have a house with dark roof and walls, no eaves, no trees/greenery, lots of paving, minimal insulation - you will be demanding more of your a/c in summer - and your power bills will be much higher. Also, in hot weather, you should close the house up early in the morning and use blinds, awnings, curtains to prevent the house heating up as the day gets hotter. At night, open the house up to allow it to cool off (keeping safety/security in mind). In cold weather, to reduce power bills, dress in warmer clothes. Use passive solar heating where possible e.g. orient house to warm walls and floors, use deciduous vines or trees near the house. It is recommended that for the most economical useage, the temperature is set for 24 degrees centigrade. Most power is used when the unit has to drastically raise or lower the temperature. For most people, the most comfortable temperature is around 23 to 24 degrees centigrade - depending on activity levels. Mrs B Nothing wrong with Mitsubishi Electric but Mitsubishi Heavy are far better quality. Mitsubishi Electric I would rate closer to the likes of Kelvinator, LG, Sharp, etc Move your linen into laundry and access laundry from your present linen space 1 8016 |
