Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation Re: Duct-Connected Aircon Units above wardrobe 4Aug 25, 2009 9:13 am Pewit I think you've supplied almost all the info I need although I'm a bit confused about Daikin's model numbers. Am I right in thinking that the only difference between the CDXS25EAVMA and FDXS25CVMA is the size of the unit? I had thought about having a cooling only unit venting from the top of the wardrobe into the kitchen adjoining since we won't need heating in there but it does face West and get's hot in the summer evenings. How much space should we allow between the top of the wardrobe and the ceiling above and how much at the rear between the unit and the wall? - the wardrobes are planned to be 650mm deep but could be deeper if required. I also presume we need to either create a maintenance hatch in the top of the wardrobe (dimensions?) or enable the whole wardrobe to slide away from the wall for access. We're also planning to put another 2 similar CDX/FDX units in a false ceiling in a new WC we are creating by blocking off a hallway (max ceiling space W 1076 x D 1703 x H 60). These units will vent into adjoining rooms but we don't want the inlet air to come from the WC! - What is the minimum height we should allow above the false ceiling? - Would a large grille at one end of the false ceiling (from outside the WC) be sufficient for incoming air or should we allow for one at each end? Sorry, yes the CDXS units are 700mm wide and the FDXS units 900mm or 1,100mm for the 6kW... These units will fit into 240mm dropped ceilings... you should allow a minimum of 700mm depth really; you can get away with 650mm if you absolutely have to but best not... don't forget to allow for the drain when you're planning things; need a gravity drop or expensive pumps... Yes, you'll need a hatch in the wardrobe - all builders should be familiar with these requirements... You can create a plenum above the wardrobe and have the supply and return grilles close to each other... If I get the picture attachment thingy working it should show below... oops, it looks like the board won't allow any more pictures... send me a pm with your email addy if you'd like to see some pictures of these types of unit during construction... If you go to my website you can download the Daikin multi-split brochure with all the specifications, etc in it... Normally you use builders bog. Polyurethane painting is basically the same principle as car panel beating and painting. All the prep work is the same and so is the… 3 3043 Probably a not bad thing to mention particle board should in case anyone else reading this got the two confused. 6 4858 The unit normally clips into a metal plate screwed to the wall, either plate is not flush, or unit not hooked in and could be hanging from the pipes partly, either might… 2 15771 |
