Was just wondering if anyone has used Daikin VRV system.

Re: Daikin VRV 5Aug 18, 2009 11:34 pm Hi, Our builder was suggesting it, but I haven't been able to find any details on it. It sounds like it is an expensive solution. Not really sure if our house or budget can manage it. Probably the ducted Daikin will be sufficient for us. Thanks Have a look at the downloads section on my website and you'll be able to get a pdf of the VRV-III system. It is an expensive solution but you get individual control of each room/area that you want to condition; and frequently with bespoke homes these days there's nowhere to run duct work for simpler systems. Multi-splits are OK-ish but when you get 10 fancoils you end up with 3 or 4 outdoor units which is messy and can't always be accommodated; the VRV will let you do everything with a single ODU. Also many of these houses will have a plant room where we can hide the ODU. And if you go for a 3 pipe solution you can have some fancoils on heating while others are on cooling. And the control options are much better with VRV systems with pretty much full integration with home automation systems being possible. A couple of guides would be 2 off 28kW, 7 fancoil systems we are installing at the moment for around $40k each and one we have just finished with 14 fancoils and 90kW ODU for $115k, plus controls to come which will add about another $10k. Found it hard to grasp what it was from the Daikin site. From the sounds of it, it is probably a luxury that I don't quite need. Thanks again for your help. |
