We have a double brick home in Roseville (Sydney). In each of the rooms the interior course of bricks has ventilation panels near the ceiling that line up exactly with ventilation panels in the external course of bricks. Not surprisingly we are finding it a tad cold at the moment, since any heat we add to the rooms just goes straight out the ventilation panels and into the atmosphere.
Is there any reason why we shouldnt block up the internal ventilation panels, either temporarily or permanently?
We tend to have the windows open a fair bit so dont think we will have an issue with lack of airflow, and when we get into proper renovations willl probably install some sort of air/heat exchanger to ensure air flow from outside (while minimising heat loss). Will also put ceiling fans in most rooms to get air circulation.
thanks
Nick
