You can also look at www.solarspan.com.au or www.australinsulation.com.au. If you go to www.smartersmallhome.com.au you can see an example of this being used in construction. No roof framing required and can be put up in two days. Re: Structural Insulated Panels 3Jul 03, 2009 12:42 pm thanks for that i fired off a few emails to get some more info! perhaps looking to use this for my top floor ease of construction and good insulation! 2nd-Fix | Blog Building with Desyn Homes previously with the insolvent Endeavour Homes Re: Structural Insulated Panels 4Jul 03, 2009 9:21 pm Have a lookk at rapid wall too. http://www.rapidwall.com.au/public/content/default.asp?xcid=2 Can be filled with concrete or insulation depending on what you want - thermal mass or insulation. Re: Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems - EIFS 5Jul 13, 2009 7:26 pm found another company that makes this stuff, looking to perhaps use it for the entire build! at $130 a m2 (supplied, installed, rendered, textured and painted) comes out cheaper than insulated concrete forms! http://www.foamfast.com.au trying to find out its acoustic value now 2nd-Fix | Blog Building with Desyn Homes previously with the insolvent Endeavour Homes Re: Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems - EIFS 6Jul 22, 2009 6:09 pm did you try looking at Zego? They do an EPS board that can be used to clad a house. http://www.zego.com.au/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=14&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=119 Re: Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems - EIFS 7Jul 22, 2009 8:33 pm yeah i noticed the zego stuff, however i reakon the panel system would be quicker to put up, and less render is needed as it comes with a fibreglass biscuit on it, and the zego is just foam so far my quotes for 8mm of acrylic render aren't looking too good! 2nd-Fix | Blog Building with Desyn Homes previously with the insolvent Endeavour Homes Re: Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems - EIFS 8Jul 23, 2009 1:04 pm I thought of using zego because it seems like a one-man operation (thinking of cladding a B/veneer house). Most systems are foam and you need to add f/glass mesh on top. You are right in pointing out that some systems come with mesh glued on. Its important to have a dream of a comfy insulated home. Keep trying! Re: Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems - EIFS 9Jul 23, 2009 2:07 pm mlads Its important to have a dream of a comfy insulated home. Keep trying! well said!! that has been my goal from the start, 2nd-Fix | Blog Building with Desyn Homes previously with the insolvent Endeavour Homes Re: Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems - EIFS 11Jul 25, 2009 8:43 pm Has anyone looked at using this http://www.fivestarthermalfoam.com.au/Products_page.htm Saw at Melb. Home Show 3 or 4 years ago and have been trying to find info about it (other than from the manufacturer) ever since. Actually manufactured (for Fivestar) by Maxicube I think. Usually used in the manufacturer of freezer vans (ie semi trailers). Peter Re: Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems - EIFS 12Aug 13, 2009 10:26 pm another company masterwall http://masterwall.com.au/ 50/75/100mm 1.3/2.0/2.7 R rating still yet to get a solid unbiased stc rating, friend of mine at work currently has it in her home 75mm+r2.0 insulation she says its very quiet and well insulated 2nd-Fix | Blog Building with Desyn Homes previously with the insolvent Endeavour Homes Re: Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems - EIFS 14Aug 14, 2009 1:41 pm mlads has an r-rating of 1.4? kinda strange perhaps their testing is different? so it has a pre render fibreglass on one side and metal skin on the other? 2nd-Fix | Blog Building with Desyn Homes previously with the insolvent Endeavour Homes Re: Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems - EIFS 15Aug 14, 2009 9:41 pm re: Pro-x Product is 70mm thick so with an R value of 1.5 it could be a lower grade EPS? The thing I liked about this system is the way the render is applied. It looks like the render would adhere well into the hollow metal skin. Re: Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems - EIFS 16Aug 14, 2009 10:38 pm yeah perhaps its lower grade, but as much as half? its prolly better to have the render board as it has a thin layer of pre-render on already; and would stick better. i am still tossing up between masterwall and foamfast - i dont mind even going for the 100mm! see whats the numbers say mlads are you using this for your whole house?, have you met anyone so far that has used any foam panels? 2nd-Fix | Blog Building with Desyn Homes previously with the insolvent Endeavour Homes Re: Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems - EIFS 17Aug 17, 2009 1:44 pm FireFox, no I don't know of anyone that has done EIFS house unfortunately. I still think they pro-x are misquoting the results of the R-value test. Table they present has the R value per 25.4mm or 1 inch. Would 70mm be approximately 2.8 times the 0.7 value - so just under 2? Pls correct me if I'm wrong. Re: Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems - EIFS 18Aug 17, 2009 3:19 pm good news i heard back from one company that is currently got 2x houses under construction here in Adelaide and a couple that have been completed. 2nd-Fix | Blog Building with Desyn Homes previously with the insolvent Endeavour Homes Re: Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems - EIFS 19Jan 08, 2010 8:05 pm Hey there we used 75mm Masterwall which i pre coated with the mesh.
