Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Jun 01, 2009 9:38 pm Briefly, just bought an established house that's only less than a year old which has LG ducted aircon installed. The instruction manual supplied isn't very good and am hoping that if anyone else here has an LG ducted system, perhaps you could help me out a bit? 1) When we've switched the power on, it seems to switch off automatically by itself after an hour. Have spent ages checking and there's no programmed time on/off nor timers as well. Is this a kind of safeguard? Do I have to set the timer to switch off after a certain number of hours before it can run continuously for more than an hour? 2) Remote control doesn't seem to work with the wall remote! It can switch on/off and the display changes but does not communicate with wall remote. Hence it doesn't change the running of the ducted system at all. 3) The house is still new-ish. Is the system still under warranty? Many thanks in advance! Re: Help needed with LG ducted system 2Jun 01, 2009 9:59 pm Not sure about first 2 points, but point 3 - Most companies usually cancel warranty if a house's ownerships gets transferred. I would look for any documents and ring up (If you have a warranty claim) without mentioning you have bought the house. Maybe if you just supply the air conditioning contractor your address they will come out and fix whats needed. If you just bought the house, maybe try talking with homes previous owners for first 2 points. Under the contract for sale they should have to supply the air conditioning in good working order. Re: Help needed with LG ducted system 4Jun 16, 2009 9:20 pm The warranty will still be current. LG give a 5 year domestic wty and it does not matter if you were not the original installer of the unit. The unit shouldn't shut down after 1 hour unless the timer function is opperating. My advise, Call the company the installed it and get them to check it out. The other thing to try is turning the power off to the system for a few minutes then turn it back on and see if it works ok. Lg ducteds aren't to bad a system so good luck. Cheers The Air Cond Guy Building Standards; Getting It Right!
