Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 May 31, 2009 12:15 am We are going to build the Hayman with Coral Homes and would like to put in Acoustic Insulation in the Internal Walls ourselves. In order to prepare a bill of materials we need to know the length, width and depth of the space between the frame sections of a Coral Home. Does anybody know? Re: Insulation for Coral Home, space size internal frame? 2Jun 01, 2009 4:40 pm I would think your Coral sales manager, would be able to find out that info for you. I am building a modified Hamilton with Coral and I am also going to have a go at self installing wall insulation. Speaking to a guy at Bunnings, the most common stud width seems to be 430mm. BTW, for internal walls, stud spacing at 600mm is more common than 450. I'll send an e-mail to the sales guy, requesting the necessary info and have a look at Bunnings. The last time we were there all the Acoustic stuff was sold out. Re: Insulation for Coral Home, space size internal frame? 6Jun 04, 2009 4:34 pm I did the installation for my Coral Hamilton earlier this year, every stud was different in size. If you are doing it yourself, make sure that you get rolls, not batts, otherwise you will have a whole lot of wastage. Re: Insulation for Coral Home, space size internal frame? 7Jun 04, 2009 4:58 pm Thanks Raw, that is good to know. How did you secure the batts, with tape, nails, fish line or something else. We already bought a compressor so we could do the nails. Also I would like to know if you had enough time to put the Insulation in and did you do the cabling yourself as well? We are worried that after the electrician has been we will not have enough time to do it all in a proper way. Could you give me an idea of Coral's timeframe in that regard? Thanks Re: Insulation for Coral Home, space size internal frame? 8Jun 14, 2009 3:23 pm As a rule external walls on a tiled roof will be 450mm. Tin roof 600mm. It all depends though on the chippy and the specs on the plans. Being a project home i wouldnt doubt if it was a tin roof that the stud centres were 600mm. Internally stud centres will be 600 unless its a bathroom wall in which case it may be 450 again. Also truss spacings vary, tiles need a 600mm centre maximum and tin has a maximum of 1200mm. Higgins insulation would be able to help you out with all things insulation as well. They have earthwool, polyester & wool. Re: Insulation for Coral Home, space size internal frame? 9Jun 14, 2009 11:54 pm Hi Ronaldio from Nambour. I worked there for two years in Selangor Private Hospital. Nice place, nice people, I loved it there. Thanks for your reply. In all it starts to become a bit daunting to do the insulation ourselves, he. Luckily we live on site so we might be able to measure everything at the end of every working day in order to prepare the real job which has to be done in a weekend. cheers Sorry, don't know costs, but there are a couple of very important principles you need to get right (and now) .... (1) never agree to any "upgrade" unless you first know… 5 6838 Current door width is approx 2700, looking to have double doors fitted 820-820. What size does the frame need to be before door jamb? Thanks 0 3548 This is 100% true. You can not hang anything on steel frames. very frustrating 8 8023 |
