Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 May 29, 2009 3:07 pm Hi there - I am in the process of getting some quotes on a Braemar Gas heating unit (looking at the 4star which is apparently actually a 4.7 star??) and noticed some other posts on heating that indicated that it is possible to use the same ducting/outlets for the heating and evap cooling which is not what we were advised when we installed the Breezair evap system several years ago - maybe because we were not looking at the same brands for heating and cooling?? Any advice? Any personal experiences with Braemar would be good to hear as I can't find any online reviews anywhere and of course the local dealers rave about them as you would expect!! Re: Braemar 4 star Gas heating - any thoughts? 2May 29, 2009 5:29 pm Braemar 4.7 star heaters are the best heater going around and no you can't use the same ducts for heating & evap because of the size difference and the other reason is the postion evap points are to be away from windows while heating points need to be above windows hope this helps. Braemar have the most efficent heaters on the market starting at 3.7,4.7,5.6 and very compact. Brivis have'nt changed their heaters for bout 10 years and are falling behind the market also Brivis can take up to 2 months to repair heaters under warranty Bonaire just a cheap builders heater. Re: Braemar 4 star Gas heating - any thoughts? 3May 29, 2009 6:05 pm Thanks Brad75 - think you also responded to my questions in another thread that I 'hijacked'!! Hoping someone would tell me just that - nice when the people selling them are actually on the money and not just trying to push a product. I haven't heard a bad thing about them so I am pretty much decided - just about negotiating price now! Re: Braemar 4 star Gas heating - any thoughts? 4May 31, 2009 6:53 am My experience with Braemar differs to what Brad has said. I had a Braemar 532 installed in 2006. Still doesn't work. Braemar management will not return my calls and 2 of their "authorized installers" can't repair it. I have handballed it to the Plumbing association and am contemplating taking Braemar to small claims. Best of luck. C Re: Braemar 4 star Gas heating - any thoughts? 5Jun 14, 2009 11:26 pm Depending on which state you are in, you may find it useful info that Weatherworld Nunawading (Melbourne) was offering $500 off Braemar gas central heating units with a radio promo. Not sure if it went into the month of June - could well do as they also said Braemar were offering 2 yr warranty extension for June and they were offering there deal in addition to Braemar's deal.
