Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 May 28, 2009 7:59 am Good morning all, my partner and l recently bought our first home which happens to be my grandparents old place ; stumped brick veneer built in the early 50's , which has had very little modernisation done to it. Currently there is no mains gas connected , we used LPG cylinders for cooking and the hot water is heated electrically. l'm told by my dad who did it many years ago himself, that it's possible to convert old oil fueled heaters to gas , but the problem is, do we go for mains gas or go the same road as our cooking and used bottled LPG , which to be honest , is very very cheap to run ! ( one 45 kg cylinder for cooking lasts about 18 months and costs around $120 ) I have NO IDEA if this is even possible , but if it is and someone out there has done it , which would be best and roughly how much would the costs be? I've done a little research and found very little info out there , so short of ringing a swag of plummers and gas fitters, is anyone able to help with info ?
