Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Apr 13, 2009 10:09 pm Hi all, Can anyone recommend any air conditioning providers in Adelaide? We will be starting our building process in the next few months (hopefully) and we wanted to get an idea of options and costs etc. We have been given the name MecAir by our builder and will be speaking to them but we wanted to get some other quotes from reputable providers before making our decisions. Thanks, PN Re: Air con providers in Adelaide - any recommendations? 4Apr 17, 2009 11:53 pm Thanks for the tips. We've heard that there can be delays with getting parts for Daikin in the event of problems. Heard good things about Actron. Will look into Mannix and the Home Show Anyone else heard of any other companies? Both are high end units. The top-end Actron units offer high levels of control. For instance they allow for very low flow rates so that you can even condition only one room. They also allow independent thermostat control to zones. The net effect is high efficiency and less waste. We decided that it was unlikely that we needed this degree of functionality for our house and living habits. We initially had a bit of problem with Daikin i to fix a fault. Their head office (which normally deals with this) is a bit of a pain to deal with but we got more results when dealing with the local branch. The installation and design of the systems is as important as the unit itself. Reputable companies do a proper heat load assessment of your house situation and then design and select a system based on that. From what I have seen, company's that sell Daikin or Actron tend to offer that product or one other alternative rather than selling from a range of manufacturers. Thanks, PN PM-ed you Re: Air con providers in Adelaide - any recommendations? 12May 25, 2009 7:11 pm hi, ihave had 2 air cons (both breeze air harmony), by Adelaide Heating and Cooling. I highly recommend both the unit and the installer. The Harmony is an evaporative unit and performed brilliantly through that disgusting heatwave we had earlier on this year.Excellent on power consumption and also on water usage(we are on a 'dry block' in TwoWells which means we are solely on rain water-NO MAINS) it didnt use nowhere as much water as i expected it to.Hope this helps you. good luck! I have been looking into getting quotes for a reno I am doing shortly. I have been looking at Trend and Wideline for both windows and doors. I did enquire with Vista but… 0 6153 How do you remove one of these ceiling air con vents? And is it possible to disconnect the duct joined to the vent from inside the house, without going into the roof cavity? 0 5929 Hi all, sorting out the ducted air con for a 350sqm double story house. Does this placement sound reasonable to you? Also, I plan to have 6 zones I think. Living room… 0 0 |
