Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Mar 18, 2009 10:49 am Hi, My bother has just bought a 2 storey house and it doesn't have ducted and he wants ducted both dowstairs and upstairs.
Is it possbile to install ducting for downstairs in an already built 2 storey house? Re: Ducted in 2 Storey house after construction 2Mar 19, 2009 6:14 pm Not really unless the bottom roof joins up to the top roof, or if the builder left some penetrations hidden (usually in cupboard and robes) so you can get ducting to the downstairs area. If you have a large downstairs roof space another option is to bring an external cowling from the top roof to the bottom. It is basically a colourbond box so the ducting can reach the downstairs area. It usually fits in between the eaves of the top storey straight down into the roof space. I thought that may be the case. I haven't been in the house yet as he bought it without me seeing it first. He takes possesion this comming Easter so I'll be able to see for myself.
