Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation Re: Re: 19Jun 23, 2009 8:07 am Monichi darrenu Only existing homes qualify for the $1600 and they have to be owner-occupied. There is $1000 available to landlords who need to install insulation in their investment properties. Interesting to see that the Government also offers a $1600 rebate for Solar Hot Water systems but you have to choose one or the other. Either the Hot Water or the Insulation. With the $1600 Solar hot water system, does this only apply to existing home as well? NOT newly built? I know that the free ceiling insulation is not available for newly constructed homes. What if the solar hot water is part the the building contract? Ie. major builder has this as standard Are we able to claim rebate then? Cheers Hey Monichi, Yes, as far as I know new homes are eligable for the solar hot water rebate, however talk with your builder to find out how you will make the claim. Here is the Governments Energy Efficiency Hotline phone number if you have any questions about Insulation or the hot water solar rebate give them a call 1800 808 571 Also here is the link for Solar Rebate http://www.environment.gov.au/energyeff ... rhotwater/ and here is the link for the Insulation Rebate http://www.environment.gov.au/energyeff ... index.html Reminder; as of July 1st, insulation installers (insulation businesses) will invoice the Government. The home owner will not have to put in for a re-imbersement the installer will take care of this. Hope that answered your question. Cheers, Simon Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed. Looks like… 0 11276 1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer. Insulation is pretty cheap and definitely worth it 2 6207 |
