We're renovating our unit in an Art-Deco block and having tried to find mini-duct system suppliers in Sydney without success (SpacePak, Unico etc don't have reps here) we've now gone for a conventional ducted reverse-cycle system installed in the pitched roof-void above - ducted out through a false wall in the living room and gaps at the top of the new wardrobes and kitchen units.
However, the aircon installer has recommended those modern aluminium Linear Grilles which we think would look totally out of place.
Since Air-con was very rare in the 1930s, does anyone know of a supplier of Art-Deco Grilles like the one below (which I found on a US site) or similar:
