Split System Good Reputations ?

Hi, i thought i posted this yesterday but it's not here so i will try again, im after opinions from people as to what they feel has been a good system for them, i know i want a refrigerated system with inverter but now to find a reliable brand, it also would be good to have one that is easy and not overly expensive to get parts for should it need repairs.

thanks yak chat, Daiken is where i was heading, a friend can get a split system unit for $1,400 from a relative with contacts, its new with warrenty (and not stolen )

so i will now say yes to getting one. thankyou

I recently did a website for an aircon company and the owner was full on Daikin (he wasnt the owner of Daikin by the way!! haha). I'm not particularly technically minded but he gave me lots of reasons for Daikin being the ones to go for (wish I could remember them). We've still not decided on whether or not we will bite the bullet...or stick with just ceiling fans...but if we do opt for aircon we've decided to go with Daikin

the place we rented while building was a dakin it was rubbish and I would not waste the money getting one. We brought one at havery norman in winter got a 4 horsepower one for $1300 in winter we brought it is a inveter system

we have fijitsu in the place we are renting now.. and it works great.. it is the 7.4kw cooling and 8.5kw heating.

We have mitsubishi heavy industries and its fantastic. But we were warned to make sure that you get the heavy industries not mitsubishi electric as they are completely different companies.

I would say Mitsiubishi H.I, Panasonic, Hitachi or Daikin I would say.

I have heard good things about Fujitsu but also heard alot of people complaining about when it does brake down it takes a long time (months) to get fixed.

I've got a Daiken split system that I installed at the start of last year. I did a fair amount of research at the time (Choice, online, friends etc) and to me it came down to running cost rather than purchase cost and Daiken won hands down.

Mine came to $1400 fully installed, one system does my entire 2 bdrm unit and it was a 2.5 or 3kw from memory. Its as quiet as a mouse, its got great functions and I have not even noticed a hiccup in my electricity costs and I had no form of aircon before hand.

Highly recommend.
