We have just moved into our new house in the last two weeks and when testing out unit the other day on a warmish day we set the temperature to coll down to say 20 degrees yet the unit stayed on 24 and never went down a degree the whole time - is this your experience with the system - I have had the brivis people out here twice already and they are sending someone out in a week. Just wondering if you can set yours for say 19 degrees on a 30 degree day and whether it brings the temperature down for you. I have a 18 kw unit so fairly large but also a 40 sq home zoned for 2 areas bedrooms and downstairs even with only one area on seems to make little difference. The air coming out is very soft and has no real push I am wondering if the fan is not producing enough power- what is your experience.I would expect that for the top money we have paid that it would get down to the temperature you set it at or what's the point? Kindest Regards Re: Brivas Ice system not working ????? 2Jan 04, 2009 7:24 am An 18kw unit should do half your house. So like you say do not operate on whole house it will not work.
The bit about the air pressure. apparently the fan speed can be set on the actual unit. We had some one come up and increase it slightly to improve. But keep in mind on refridge systems ou should feel the air coming out like you do on evap. I dont know what brivis have already done but i would be looking and the inflow-so maybe you filter (is it clean) or are the pipes leaking in the ceiling or are they kinked. How about the air coming out is it cold?? icy cold?? maybe something wrong with the refrdigerant. Hopefully some things to think about. Re: Brivas Ice system not working ????? 3Jan 04, 2009 2:20 pm The unit won't always get down to the temparture you desire they are designed to get the temparture around a 13 degree drop from outside temp so if it is 35 outside you may get down to 22 degrees also the fan speed is always on high with airconditioning but can be adjusted for heating if fan speed wasn't on high all the time with aircon going you would find it will ice up the coil you may have a ductwork problem is all the ducts hung up and have good bends on them?
Another thing with refrigerated aircons they need to be put on early in the day for example if your house is 24 degrees in the morning you need to get the cooler going then it's no point waiting till the house is 30 degress at five in the afternoon it would take ages to cool it down then. I had a similar issue with my fridge not too long ago. It wasn't the same model, but the symptoms were pretty much the same: the compressor would start and then stop… 3 7541 Okay sorry silly me, my wife has solves the mystery for me. It’s because the labels on the ports are all wrongly positioned by the builder hence it confuses me. 2 1382 Once you know the basics, the rest is easy.
