Hi
Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the 'supply fan motor starting device' that is the subject of the product recall for the Brivis Contour Evaporative Cooler.
I have one of the affected models and coincidentally, last weekend the cooler made a strange noise accompanied by a burning smell and now won't start. I thought the motor had failed, though it's only 5 years old and then I received the product recall notice in the mail!. Anyway Brivis will be coming out to make the repair but I'm still in the dark as to what the potential damage of this faulty part is, i.e. the recall notice only states 'possible property damage and/or personal injury'.
Does anyone know if the faulty part could damage the motor itself? I'm just looking at worst case scenario if the rework doesn't get my cooler started again.
Any info greatly appreciated.
Cheers
