Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Nov 27, 2008 6:59 am Hey guys,
Just wondering, our builder offers R1.5 insulation to the external walls and R3 to the ceiling. We were thinking of upgrading our wall insultation from R1.5 to R2 or R2.5 and leaving the ceiling insulation at R3. We live in Sydney so I don't know how beneficial the extra insulation will be. Will this provide a noticeable improvement over the standard R1.5 our builder is offering? Does anyone have a ballpark figure of what kind of price increase (very roughly) we'd be looking at (per sqm)? Any recommendations? Roof 3.2-3.7 Walls 1.9 - 2.2 Nav - if you're building with Wisdom - I think to satisfy BASIX you get R3.5 in the ceiling and R2.0 in the walls. (That is different than their standard inclusions which says R1.5 in walls, R3.0 ceiling - pay $2000 for the New Lifestyle sale to get all the BASIX stuff covered)[/b] After 4 years - we're in! We are planning to do the new lifestyle sale and the kitchen package through them.
