Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Jan 18, 2007 12:28 pm What are peoples' thoughts on heat coming from the roof or the floor. Any noticable difference? Conversely, what about cooling from the floor vents?
The reason I'm asking is that I'd like to have both the cooling and heating coming from the same ducts so as to save costs. Thanks ! Re: Heating ducts, roof or floor does it really matter? 2Jan 18, 2007 5:20 pm Thats the whole point of ducted reverse cycle - they come from the same vents. As far as I've seen, if its possible to go under the floor then thats the way to go. Re: Heating ducts, roof or floor does it really matter? 3Feb 21, 2007 7:13 am Nowadays it doesn't really make too much difference. The ceiling vents used today help to move the air where it needs to go, units are built with much more air than the used to be. I would suggest ducted r/c a/c through the ceiling, or ducted heating with add-on air conditioning to go through the floor. With that said, both systems can work either way around with no adverse effect.
