Unit 8/22 - 30 Wallace Avenue, Point Cook Shop: 8360 9622 www.plumheatcool.com.au They guys don't deal with Brivis or Breezair however Braemer seem to have a pretty good name....I used them a few months back. I dealt with Warren Bullen 0423 399 266, Warren seemed to know what he was talking about (wasn't a sales drone), they were prompt (within the minute), provided good advice and service. They were also very neat...they had to make a return air vent larger which could have been very messy and it ended up not being so. We used these guys for the previous house: J&S Airconditioning 12 Garden Drv, Tullamarine Ph 9330 3911 http://melbourne.citysearch.com.au/E/V/ ... 044/90/13/ Price was good on the evap but the service was a bit drone-ish and install was messy. mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: Reccomend me an evap cooling installer in Melbournes SW??? 3Nov 16, 2008 2:44 pm Hi,
Ive been shopping around for an evap unit for my house and my friends in the Taylors Hill area. After a bit of research, we have decided to go for the Breezeair unit. We got a pretty good quote from Coldflow. The rep was based in the Werribee/Point Cook area. His name was Terry. 0433565924. Let me know if you want anymore info. Re: Reccomend me an evap cooling installer in Melbournes SW??? 4Nov 17, 2008 4:16 pm Thanks I have a few quotes on a Brivis Contour L53 with 8 ducts ranging from $4500 to $5000.
Waiting on Pullbrook to call back. I tried Plum but they seemed to want to sell me a Coolbreeze and I definately want a Brivis or Breezeair. Any other reccs??? Re: Reccomend me an evap cooling installer in Melbournes SW??? 5Nov 19, 2008 5:35 pm Hi Penny,
I'm a long-time lurker on this site - love it to bits, and have picked up heaps of useful info for the renovation we're doing. We've renovated four houses now (three in Melbourne's west) and the first company Mike (TDL) recommends to you provided us, I would have to say, with the single-worst experience of any tradespeople we have dealt with. Late, promised much, delivered little, abusive on being questioned, poor quality system - you name it. Whatever you do, stay away from them. (happy to PM people who might want more info). On the other hand, have dealt most recently with Superior heating and Cooling from Werribee. They were terrific - to the point of returning service calls while on holiday on NY's Day. Put the entire system in within three hours. A certain other company took over a week. cheers, cj Re: Reccomend me an evap cooling installer in Melbournes SW??? 8Nov 21, 2008 10:15 am Thinking of going with G.J Bradding Heating and Cooling they have been very prompt and professional in quoting and have a special on the unit we want (saw it in the local paper)
Has anyone used them at all? Re: Reccomend me an evap cooling installer in Melbournes SW??? 9Nov 21, 2008 11:10 am We are getting the Brivis Advance F33.. Our living areas is about 17 squares and there will be 6 ducts.
I think it is J&S Airconditioning that are doing it. Anyone else have this unit? and if so how does it go? Re: Reccomend me an evap cooling installer in Melbournes SW??? 10Nov 22, 2008 8:09 pm I had a Brivis Contour evaporative cooling system installed today by a Hoppers Crossing company - Western Thermal Solutions. They have a show room at 90 Old Geelong Road. Their phone number is 9749 4011. Their staff are really friendly and are all willing to take the time to discuss the options and explain the different features of the units they sell. I've been really impressed with their service. You can just take a house plan into them and they'll work out what you need and how much it will cost.
The man who did the installation today just quietly went about his business, he put down protective coverings every time he had to cut into the ceiling so as to protect my floors and furniture and without being asked he made a neat pile of the removed roof tiles so that I could keep them for spares. My only complaint is that it's too cold to properly test the cooling and I was sitting here, cold, for 3.5 hours waiting for the installer to go so I could close all the doors again and turn the heater on! A couple of hundred might not bother me but I cannot justify $1000 difference. Glad you had a good experience though Re: Reccomend me an evap cooling installer in Melbournes SW??? 12Nov 23, 2008 1:51 pm That is strange. I got a "cash" price from a friend of a friend and it was only $400 cheaper than the legitimate price from Western Thermal. Western Thermal was $200 more expensive than Plum but I didn't like the unit Plum were pushing me to get. Anyway, if you've got a much cheaper price and you're happy with the people you've selected, that's great Received keys to my new home on 16/5/08 Re: Reccomend me an evap cooling installer in Melbournes SW??? 14Nov 25, 2008 5:09 am I got a much smaller unit and less points so the two prices are not comparable. Like I said, if you're happy with the people you selected, and the price is right, that's great. Let us know how the installation goes. Received keys to my new home on 16/5/08 Re: Reccomend me an evap cooling installer in Melbournes SW??? 15Nov 25, 2008 3:25 pm penny73 Western Thermal quoted me $4800 for an 8 duct L53 Brivis Contour but the other company was $3750. Does this compare with what you paid at all? I think $4800 is far too expensive. Ive paid $4900 for breezeair with 9 points and the silver flex tubing. Re: Reccomend me an evap cooling installer in Melbournes SW??? 16Dec 17, 2008 10:27 am penny73 Western Thermal quoted me $4800 for an 8 duct L53 Brivis Contour but the other company was $3750. Does this compare with what you paid at all? Hi Penny73 Do you mind sharing details of the other company who quoted for $3750. Thanks apk Re: Reccomend me an evap cooling installer in Melbournes SW??? 17Dec 23, 2008 8:40 am I got a quote for brivis L63 (21 sq house) with 7 outlets cost $4400 and the same with L53 for $4000.
Another quote for Bonaire VSM 75 with 7 outlets cost me $3750, actually I was told VSM 65 is good to the job. But I reckon its better to go for a bigger cooling capacity, that's my understanding anyway based on the posts in this forum. I hope the price is right for these models, what you guys reckon? Where did you get those quotes from? Thanks |
