Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Jan 15, 2007 9:31 pm Hi,
I am building a single storey house in Melbourne with a project home builder. Has anyone had experience installing the ducted cooling-heating system after the building has been constructed and keys handed to the owners ? If this is this possible, what work do we require the builder to do in the ceiling, structure ect, to allow the airconditioning experts to do their job later on ? I am asking this as their quote for refrigerated cooling is quite expensive. Also, which brands of refrigerated cooling airconditioning are reliable, and have less issues in the longer term, and are good value for money ? First timer Re: Feasibility: Installing Cooling-heating system post build 3Jan 17, 2007 1:34 pm Hi - we are having air-con put in the house after taking possession.
The only thing we are getting the builder to put in is a water connection in the roof. apparently you don't really even need that ... the air-con companies do everything they need with very little fuss. We are going back to the same company hubby (to be) used in one of his previous homes. He was very impressed with their work and ease of installation with no disruption to the household. Not sure on brands ... we are going with the brand we know and have always been happy with. Everybody has a different opinion and experience so it's really hard to get multiple opinions that are in sync with each other. 2 2531 Hi everyone!
